Expert evidence is an indispensable asset in modern Irish family law. Judges are routinely asked to make deeply challenging decisions regarding child welfare, access, and parental capacity, relying heavily on specialized behavioural and psychological data that sits outside the court’s own training. However, a fine legal line exists between an expert assisting the court and an expert attempting to substitute the judge’s own function.

How Criminals think, or is it?
We have all at some time or another, watched the news or heard of some crime or other, thinking, why would anyone do that? The usual suspects arise: poverty, family history, bad company, or anger at not having what other peers have, etc., but it’s not that simple, and an average Joe soap will find this hard to contend with, but it is a criminal’s mind, literally, and it’s different to most people’s way of thinking.

A miscarriage of justice happens when an innocent person is tried by a court of law and found guilty of an offence for which they did not commit, in essence it is the failure of the judicial system to administer justice accordingly. Wrongful Conviction
This is where the accused is arrested, questioned or charged without lawful procedures being followed, or is questioned illegally, or evidence is manufactured or tampered with resulting in a guilty verdict. Seen as an issue in the process of justice. The person many be innocent or not.
